The State Member for Holsworthy, Melanie Gibbons MP has been able to secure $94,106 for community organisations in Barden Ridge and Sandy Point through the NSW Government’s 2016 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.

Ms Gibbons said that she is happy she has been able to secure these funds to enhance much needed facilities in these suburbs.

“The funding will aim to create more vibrant and inclusive communities and deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes.” Ms Gibbons said.

Successful projects include:

• $15,000 towards the upgrade of Sandy Point Park, including the installation of a 4.5m Mammoth Swing;
• $46,290 to upgrade the toilet and bathroom facilities at the Marconi Clay Target Club;
• $30,000 towards the construction of new playing courts for students at The Shire Christian School, and
• $ 2,816 to purchase first aid equipment for the Menai Men’s Shed.
“This funding will allow these organisations to continue to provide a high level of service to our local residents.

“I would like to congratulate the grant recipients and can’t wait to see their projects, once they are completed and servicing our community.” Ms Gibbons said.
